Description
(2 hours) Having the ability to distinguish a bacterial infection from a fungal infection, from a viral infection, or being able to tell the difference between a benign mole and a life threatening melanoma, certainly lies in the domain of a trained medical profession (i.e., dermatologist). The diagnosis and subsequent treatment is likewise left up to those in the medical field. Therefore, this course will cover in some detail the subject of bacteriology and skin disorders as it relates to the hair removal and skincare specialist.
Inflammatory skin disorders, bacterial related disorders, those caused by excessive UV damage, as well as skin cancers will all be addressed. A review of their appearance, pathological findings, etiology, and physician recommended treatment options shall be included – in an attempt to further understand their nature and how they may manifest in the working environment.
