Description
(2 hours) In order to capture great images, one must understand the importance of light. Without proper lighting, the image can appear too dark or too light. It can also take on color casts, which can ultimately change the color of the subject. This is especially important in the world of Beauty as stylists and makeup artists alike want and need to show their work as close to real life as possible.
Our course will start with an introduction to the different types of light and explain their color temperatures and why that plays such a crucial role in creating great images. From there, we will demonstrate “good vs. bad” light so that it is distinguishable before the first image is ever taken.
Once we have established a basic understanding of light, we will cover camera terms and techniques from Apertures to Shutter Speeds and how each influences the quality and quantity of light that directly or indirectly illuminates your subject. You will learn the difference between a F-Stop and a bus stop, so hold on tight.
Next, we will touch on proper facial and body analysis and how to use it to enhance your subject’s best features or down play their not so great features. This will include posing, subject placement and selecting the best foreground/background environment to compliment your image.
We will close our presentation with “How to” tips for directing your subject and capturing great expressions from the shyest of people to the “professional duck-faced” selfie-taker. Yes, natural expressions play a huge role in the final image and that final image represents YOU and will help sell YOU!
